All pictures, graphs, iconographs and other visual materials have to be cited properly and by submitting a manuscript to JoBS the authors confirm they have the right to use these materials in their work and the materials may be published under Open Access license.

License Agreement
Please read the terms and conditions of the Licence Agreement made between the Baltic Defence College, the Journal on Baltic Security, and the author(s) of articles who publish with us.
- License
The author(s) grants the Journal owner a licence to use (particularly publish) the Article in the Journal. The use of the Article will be governed by the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License as currently displayed on https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode
- Author’s Warranties
The author(s) warrants that the Article is original, written by stated author(s), has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author(s) and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author(s).
- Declaration on the use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies
The Author(s) declare whether Generative AI and/or AI-assisted technologies were used during the preparation of this work, as follows (delete as applicable):
- “The Author(s) did not use Generative AI and/or AI-assisted technologies during the preparation of this work.”
- OR
- “The Author(s) used [NAME TOOL / SERVICE……] in order to [REASON………]. After using this tool/service, the Author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication.”
This declaration does not extend to spelling, grammar, and referencing tools, unless Generative AI was used for those purposes. Where the Author(s) used Generative AI and/or AI-assisted technologies beyond such tools, the above declaration will be added to the published article.
- Declaration on AI-generated images. The Author(s) warrant that they have not used AI-generated images in the Article, as such images are prohibited due to Scopus policy. This prohibition does not extend to purely technical enhancement of images (limited to adjustments to brightness, contrast, and colour balance).
Where the Author(s) have used AI for such permitted technical enhancements, the Author(s) shall submit to the Journal owner the adjusted image(s) together with the original image file(s) for verification that the changes do not extend beyond the above-mentioned technical enhancements and do not obscure the content of the original image(s).
- Copyright
The author(s) retains copyright to the Article, unless provided otherwise in this Confirmation.
- Attribution
If the author(s) uses the Article, he/she shall attribute the Journal as the place of first or partial publishing.
- Co-Authorship
Even if only one of several authors of the Article signs this Confirmation, the signatory warrants that he/she has been authorised by all co-authors to sign this Confirmation on their behalf and agrees to inform his/her co-authors of the terms of this Confirmation.
- Royalties
The granted licence entitles the author(s) to no royalties or other fees, if not separately agreed otherwise.
- Miscellaneous
The Journal owner may conform the Article to a style of punctuation, spelling, capitalisation and usage that it deems appropriate.
The author(s) acknowledges that the Article may be published under the granted licence so that it will be publicly accessible and such access will be free of charge for the readers.
The Journal owner will be allowed to sublicense the rights granted under this Confirmation to its publisher.
Any dispute arising from this Confirmation shall be settled by negotiations. If no agreement is reached, the dispute shall be settled in accordance with Estonian law in an Estonian court.
Archiving
The Journal on Baltic Security is maintained by the Baltic Defence College. In the event that the Journal on Baltic Security comes to an end, the Library at the Baltic Defence College will maintain PDF copies of all individual articles published. In the event that the Baltic Defence College no longer exists, the Estonian National Library has physical copies of Special Issues.
