Complaints, Disputes, and Appeals

Complaints and Disputes

All complaints, including those of misconduct are dealt with following Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) policies and guidelines.

In case of a complaint, please write a reasoned complaint and send it to the Editor-in-Chief for processing. Complaints received will be decided upon by the Editor-in-Chief.

In case of an Editor-in-Chief is the source of the complaint, please email the other Editor-in-Chief. If the complaint cannot be remediated by the other Editor-in-Chief, an Ethics Committee will be convened.

Appeals

If an author wishes to appeal a decision made by a Managing Editor, please detail the situation in an email to one of the Editors-in-Chief.

If an author wishes to appeal a decision made by an Editor-in-Chief, please send an email detailing the situation to both of the Editors-in-Chief. If the situation cannot be resolved, an Ethics Committee will be convened.

Ethics Committee

An Ethics Committee is called together in cases of misconduct and appeals.

An Ethics Committee consists of 3 to 5 Advisory Board members. The Ethics Committee will review each case and consult with each party separately before reaching its decision. The Ethics Committee adjudicates according to Journal on Baltic Security Regulations and COPE guidelines.

All decisions made by an Ethics Committee are final. There will be no appeals to an Ethics Committee decision.
