About the Journal on Baltic Security
The Journal on Baltic Security is published twice annually, in June and December. It is a double-blind peer reviewed English language academic journal centred on security matters essential to the Wider Baltic Sea Area and topics critical to European Security at large.
The journal is hosted and maintained as a programme of the Baltic Defence College. As a NATO-accredited professional military education institution, we focus on defence and security issues important for the Wider Baltic region; exploring the current and future challenges faced by its changing strategic environment; and proposing solutions for the pressing problems of the day.
The views and positions expressed within the Journal on Baltic Security do not reflect the positions held by the Journal on Baltic Security nor the Baltic Defence College.

Aims and Scope
The Journal on Baltic Security and the Baltic Defence College aim to contribute to academic conversations surrounding the defence and security of our region. Practioners, civil servants, academics, and the wider public can all benefit from the concepts explored in the published material.
The Journal on Baltic Security primarily publishes articles on subjects in the social sciences, political science, foreign policy, military policy, and international relations. We have also published articles on human geography, identity, minority populations, and case studies based inside and outside of the Baltic Sea region. We explore topics and concepts that are applicable to Baltic Security, regardless of where in the world the lessons are learned.
If you are questioning if your research falls within the scope of the journal, please reach out to us at journal@baltdefcol.org. We will be happy to chat about your work!
