Guest Editors
Guest editors are experts in their field who are brought in as guests to contribute to the Journal on Baltic Security by collecting and curating high-quality contributions on their particular topic. The Guest Editor works in tandem with the Editors-in-Chief but takes an active role in driving the editorial review process for special issue publications.
Expectations
Guest Editors are responsible for:
- approving the Call for Paper
- distributing the Call for Papers
- the initial desk read stage of the publishing process
- securing and assigning Managing Editors
- securing and assigning peer reviewers for each submission entering the publishing process
- assessing the quality of the peer reviews before they are returned to the authors
- aiding the Managing Editors with any and all issues that arise throughout the publishing process
- approval of each submission before publication
- approval of the overall special issue before publication
- writing an introduction or conclusion for the special issue
