  • If no competing or conflict of interest exists, please fill out formal Peer Review Form given to you.
  • Please review the assigned article with feedback and constructive criticism in mind.
  • Make a well-reasoned recommendation to support the Editors-in-Chief in their decision as to accept or reject the article and with which conditions.
  • Submit the Formal Peer Review to the Editors-in-Chief by the agreed upon date and time.

Peer reviewers are asked to assess articles based on:

  • Article's fit to the stated scope of the journal
  • Article's overall relevance to the field
  • Originality, insights, and contribution to the field
  • If the article is of publishable quality
  • The structure of the paper; clarity, consistency, strength of research and quality of the analysis
  • Methodological soundness and academic rigor
  • The correct and appropriate use of references

Reviews do not need to include recommendations or corrections on language use and style.

Peer reviewers are obligated to raise any (potential) competing or conflicts of interest immediately by submitting a formal notice to Ms. Eden Elizabeth Armstrong at eden.armstrong@baltdefcol.org.

If you have questions or concerns in this respect, please feel free to reach out for further assistance.

Mentored training and counselling is available for reviewers upon request. The Journal on Baltic security does not offer compensation for reviews.
